How to receive your 2025–2026 energy compensation directly on Paynet
Nov 07, 2025
Paynet simplifies the process and allows you to receive the money directly into your Paynet account, without the need to enter an IBAN in the application. Below, you will find all the details to access the compensations quickly and efficiently.

In previous years, compensation came as a discount on your bill. For the 2025–2026 season, the rules have changed: everyone will now receive compensation as a direct monetary payment (cash).

Whether you use gas, central heating, or wood, the state will send you a monthly sum that you can use however you see fit—whether to pay bills or buy necessities. To avoid waiting for the postman or standing in queues, the easiest way is to receive the funds directly via Paynet.

The Big Paynet Update: No IBAN Needed We’ve simplified everything this year. You no longer need to hunt for your long account code (IBAN) or worry about typing it incorrectly in the government application. Here is all you need to do in the Paynet app:

  1. Go to the "Social Payments" menu.
  2. Select "Government Compensations."
  3. Tap the "Activate" button.

That’s it. By tapping this button, Paynet notifies the government system (MPay) that you want to receive funds in this account. When the state issues the payment, the system will automatically find you based on your IDNP and transfer the money to your Paynet wallet.

Mandatory Step: Register on the Government Website Attention! Activating the option in Paynet only ensures you have a channel to receive the money. To actually be approved for the funds, you must register for the program:

  1. Go to compensatii.gov.md.
  2. Fill out the application with your personal and housing details.
  3. Regarding the payment method: if you’ve already tapped "Activate" in Paynet, you’re all set—the connection will be made automatically via MPay.

Deadline: You must complete the application by November 28 to receive the money for November. If you register later, you will only receive funds for the remaining months of the season.

Important details from the new regulations (FAQ) We’ve pulled the most important answers from the Ministry’s official list so you know exactly where you stand:

  • Who receives the money? Funds are transferred only to the main applicant. This means if you filled out the request on the government website, the Paynet account must also be in your name (the IDNP must match). You cannot receive the funds on a spouse’s account if the application is in your name.
  • Can I receive the money if my application data is incorrect? No. If the system cannot validate your data, you will not receive the payment. This is why receiving money via card/app (where we have already verified your data) is much safer than via the Post Office.
  • What can I do with the money once it hits my Paynet account? You are free to use it however you like. We recommend paying your utility bills directly within the Paynet app (under "Communal Services") because it’s fast and commission-free. However, if you need cash, you can withdraw the funds at an ATM.
  • Do I need to re-register if I received help last year?YES. Old applications are no longer valid. The system has changed, and vulnerability categories are being recalculated. Without a new application filed now, you won't receive a single leu.
